The St George Illawarra Dragons have scored a try with the immediate signing of Lachlan Ilias on a two-year deal after he was given the boot by the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The half, who spent most of 2024 on the injury bench, found himself on the outer at Maroubra before coach Jason Demetriou got the flick.
With incoming coach Wayne Bennett not changing the Rabbitohs' stance that Ilias was free to hit the road, the Red V seized the opportunity to bring him on board as they gear up for the next phase of Shane Flanagan's rebuild.
"It's a top-notch move to have Lachlan join us at the Dragons," said Head Coach Shane Flanagan in a statement celebrating the signing.
With Ilias now locked in, the Dragons are ready to tackle the upcoming seasons with renewed vigor and determination.
