Hull FC is enhancing their recruitment strategy with the announcement of Sydney Roosters outside back Fetalaiga (Junior) Pauga joining on a two-year contract beginning next season.
Pauga will link up with his current teammate Daly Cherry-Evans in East Yorkshire next year, following Hull FC's significant recruitment announcement in August involving the 370-game NRL veteran Cherry-Evans.
Despite his proven skills in the NRL, Pauga has found himself further down the lineup at Bondi, especially with incoming player Reuben Garrick expected to secure a starting position next season.
The 30-year-old has a 25-game NRL record, including two seasons with the Tigers, where he made his debut in 2021, and 21 games with the Roosters.
He has scored 11 tries during his NRL appearances and has also played over 100 games in reserve grades.
Pauga has excelled in the Roosters' NSW Cup squad, playing primarily as a winger and center, and he recorded 13 tries in 16 matches throughout 2026.
Excited about moving to the Northern Hemisphere, Pauga is eager to further his career.
"It's a surreal feeling. I'm glad that I've been able to put pen to paper and I'm really excited to come over and be a part of Hull FC," Pauga shared in a statement.
"My manager spoke to me three weeks ago about the possibility of heading over to England, saying that Steve McNamara was pretty keen to have me over there in Hull, so I was really appreciative of that.
"I'm an aggressive player on both sides of the ball. That power I bring is something I'm excited to bring over to Hull."
Pauga acknowledged that his development as a player has been influenced by the talented roster at the Roosters in recent years.
