Parramatta Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh, known for his skepticism towards clubs that overpay forwards, has expressed confidence in the value of South Sydney Rabbitohs star Keaon Koloamatangi, stating he is worth the reported $1 million-per-season offers currently being discussed.
Koloamatangi is a hot commodity on the open market, with both the Eels and St George Illawarra Dragons making substantial long-term offers to enhance their front-row depth for the future.
On the Kayo NRL Podcast, Hindmarsh was questioned about whether Koloamatangi merited the hefty contracts being considered, and he responded without hesitation.
"I would pay this bloke on his current form," Hindmarsh affirmed.
The 27-year-old's worth has surged following his shift from edge back-rower to the middle under coach Wayne Bennett at South Sydney. He has emerged as one of the league's most impactful and dependable middle forwards, earning a spot on the Test team and becoming a key player in the Rabbitohs' lineup.
Hindmarsh commended the positional change, noting the enhancements in Koloamatangi's fitness, work rate, and overall effectiveness on the field.
