Phil Gould remained coy when questioned about Josh Addo-Carr's future at the Bulldogs, with the NRL stepping in to address the situation.

The Bulldogs speedster has been called to the NRL Integrity Unit to address the fallout from his recent roadside drug tests, adding another chapter to the ongoing saga.

Gould, who has been a strong advocate for Addo-Carr in the past, was unable to provide a definitive answer about the winger's future at Belmore.

Last week, Gould backed Addo-Carr's protestations of innocence regarding the allegations of drug use, but the situation took a turn when the results of a subsequent test came back positive.

Bulldogs officials gathered on Monday to discuss the repercussions for their star player.

In a recent appearance on Nine's 100% Footy, Gould revealed that the NRL Integrity Unit had reached out to the club to arrange a meeting with Addo-Carr and his representatives.

He emphasized the need to follow the due process before making any conclusive statements about the player's fate at the club.

As the rugby league world eagerly watches this latest chapter unfold, only time will tell if Addo-Carr can overcome this hurdle and continue to soar on the field for the Bulldogs.
