Melbourne Storm's hooker Harry Grant has admitted that he may need to reach out to NRL legend Cameron Smith for assistance ahead of their do-or-die finals clash with the Sydney Roosters.
Grant's performance in last week's heavy defeat to Brisbane drew criticism from Andrew Johns, who claimed the young hooker appeared "tired" during the game.
Grant, who was part of the Kangaroos squad that won the World Cup in 2022, has had a busy year, featuring in the Maroons' successful State of Origin campaign.
However, Johns believes the demanding NRL season, combined with representative duties, has taken a toll on Grant's form.
Speaking on SEN, Johns stated, "If I was Craig Bellamy, I don't let Harry Grant put his boots on until the last training run.
He looked really tired, Harry." The former Immortal also noted that Cameron Munster, another key player for the Storm, seemed unusually subdued, possibly indicating the effects of a grueling season and representative commitments.
