Gould to Testify in Bulldogs vs Topine Case

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The ongoing court case between the Canterbury Bulldogs and Jackson Topine is poised for a significant development, as NRL executive and Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould prepares to testify.

The legal conflict began two years ago when Topine was penalized for arriving late to a training session, an incident that involved being tackled by his teammates.

The club has confirmed Gould's appearance, joining a roster of notable witnesses such as Tevita Pangai Junior, Raymond Faitala-Mariner, and Jayden Okunbor.

Topine is pursuing damages of up to $4 million, claiming that the emotional trauma from the incident has effectively ended his NRL career.

Since the 2023 season, Topine has not participated in any NRL games and has cut all ties with the Bulldogs following the internal disciplinary measures he faced.
