'Just the beginning': Golden girl vows to keep wowing fans at RLWC26

Golden Boot winner Julia Robinson has expressed her commitment to continue pushing the boundaries of women's rugby league as the Jillaroos gear up to display the sport in prime time during the upcoming World Cup.

Robinson concluded an impressive 2025 season by being unanimously voted the International Rugby League Player of the Year, highlighted by a breathtaking aerial try against Fetu Samoa that garnered widespread attention online.

Jillaroos coach Jess Skinner shared that Robinson had communicated her desire to elevate the women's game before the March 1 Test against England in Las Vegas, and her outstanding try was a testament to her dedication to that aim.

Robinson, however, is not content to rest on her achievements. She sees the World Cup as a significant opportunity to introduce new audiences to the capabilities of female athletes in the sport, especially since Channel 7 will air Australia's opening pool match against Samoa, as well as their clash with England in Perth, during prime time.

Skinner emphasized that Robinson acts as a strong proponent for women's rugby league and serves as an excellent role model for younger players within the sport.
