Penrith will bid farewell to another champion of the field in 2025, as Golden Boot honoree James Fisher-Harris has made the tough decision to part ways with the Panthers on compassionate grounds.
The Warriors have made waves in the signing world, announcing that Fisher-Harris, a three-time Penrith premiership winner and star of the rugby league realm, will don their colors in the upcoming season.
The New Zealand captain, known for his formidable skills as a forward, proved his mettle in the Kiwis' triumphant 30-0 victory over Australia in the Pacific Championships just last year.
After revealing his desire to be closer to family, Fisher-Harris was granted an early release from his Panthers contract, much to the understanding of the club.
With a heavy heart, Panthers coach Ivan Cleary acknowledged Fisher-Harris' exceptional contributions both on and off the field, highlighting the player's leadership qualities and the positive impact he has had on the team's culture.
"While it is certainly a loss for the Panthers, we support Fish in his decision and wish him, Natalie, Tahira, and Deon all the best as they embark on their next journey," Cleary remarked.
Fisher-Harris's departure marks the end of an era for Penrith, as they bid adieu to a player who has solidified his place among the game's elite.
As the rugby league world prepares for the upcoming season, all eyes will be on Fisher-Harris as he looks to make his mark in new colors and continue to shine on the field.
