Gold Coast lost the 2023 NRLW grand final to Newcastle, a defeat that still drives lock Sienna Lofipo as the Titans chase a place in this year's decider.
"It still hurts losing that one, but we are super keen and we definitely have the depth in the squad to do it this year," Lofipo said.
"If it is going to be any year it is this year. We are all hungry for it."
The 21-year-old Samoa and Maroons representative faces Brisbane in Sunday's preliminary final at Robina, where she will meet her former Wynnum Manly Seagulls teammate and childhood idol, Julia Robinson.
"I didn't start watching footy until I was 12, and after that my favourite player was Julia Robinson from the Broncos," Lofipo told AAP.
"I just loved how strong she was and fit and fast. She has always been a super-hard worker, and then I got the chance to play with her at Wynnum in the BMD Premiership."
Robinson, a Broncos winger, said the admiration went both ways.
"She says she idolises me, but I idolise her too. To see what she has put herself through to get where she is today is a real inspiration," she told AAP.
The Titans beat Brisbane 28-20 in round eight, but Lofipo expects another fierce contest against the four-time premiers and defending champions.
"There has always been this little rivalry between the two and it is always good versing them because we hate each other so much," Lofipo said.
Lofipo said the derby rivalry had carried over from the men's game. She believes the Titans have the depth to go further than their 2023 campaign.
