Gold Coast Titans Offer $4 5M to Retain Campbell

The Gold Coast Titans have reportedly made a significant move to retain halfback Jayden Campbell by offering him a substantial multi-million dollar contract as interest from several rival teams escalates.

Jayden, the son of renowned Indigenous rugby league player Preston Campbell, has firmly established himself as the team's halfback this season. Over the years, he has displayed versatility by playing various positions, including fullback and utility roles off the bench.

With the ability to engage in talks with other teams beginning November 1, Campbell has drawn attention from multiple rival clubs. He may also be on the radar of the two new expansion teams in the NRL, which could tempt him away from the Gold Coast.

According to a recent report from The Courier-Mail, Campbell has currently paused discussions regarding an extension with the Titans. In response, the organization has presented a lucrative $4.5 million offer designed to encourage him to re-sign.

This proposed five-year contract would keep Campbell with the Titans until the conclusion of the 2031 NRL season.

Sources from Zero Tackle indicate that among the five teams interested in Campbell, three have shown strong interest: the Canberra Raiders, St. George Illawarra Dragons, and the newly established Perth Bears, set to join the competition in 2027.

Reflecting on his future, Campbell noted, "I've thought about that [future] but at the same time I just want to play good football here."
