Phil Gould, the Canterbury boss, has expressed his interest in signing the NRL superstar, Addin Fonua-Blake, as a three-way battle emerges for his signature.

The Daily Telegraph reported that Gould was photographed at the airport meeting with Fonua-Blake and his managers, Tyran Smith and Ahmad Merhi, on Friday.

This meeting came after Fonua-Blake met with Wests Tigers officials and is also set to take a meeting with the St George Illawarra Dragons.

The 28-year-old player is seeking a return to Sydney on compassionate grounds in 2025 to be closer to his parents and family who are based in the Harbour City.

Gould admitted earlier in the week that Fonua-Blake was definitely a player of interest for the Bulldogs but he conceded he would be expensive.

The photo of Gould meeting with Fonua-Blake has sparked speculation about a potential move to the Bulldogs, adding excitement to the NRL offseason.

With multiple teams vying for his signature, it remains to be seen which club will ultimately secure the enforcer's services.
