Gallagher Thriving in Raiders Fullback Switch

Heart of a lion: Gallagher drives Green Machine's title tilt

Sheridan Gallagher leads the NRLW for runs in 2026, making 223 carries and 1,982 metres.

The Canberra fullback also ranks ahead of Isabelle Kelly and established No.1s Tamika Upton and Corban Baxter for kick-return metres.

Gallagher, 24, joined the Raiders after 32 games on the wing for Newcastle and a 2023 NRLW premiership.

She has scored three tries, created another and broken 32 tackles while adjusting to fullback.

"She looks so fierce in her kick-returns, bumping off defenders, but she is one of the loveliest people," captain Zahara Temara told NRL.com.

In Canberra's 22-10 victory over Wests Tigers, Gallagher made 19 runs for 196 metres, including 93 post-contact metres.

That effort was the best by any player at Leichhardt Oval that night, before the Tigers host Canberra again in Friday's elimination final at Campbelltown.

Temara said Gallagher's work ethic matched Simaima Taufa's, adding, "She's one of the hardest workers and one of the last people off the field after training," she said.

Although only 11 games into her fullback career, Gallagher continually seeks feedback, asking Temara, "Zee what do you need from me? What do you want more of?"

Temara also praised the team's patience with Gallagher and Krystal Blackwell, who moved from wing or fullback to five-eighth.
