Former South Sydney Rabbitohs NRL player Nathan Merritt has reportedly been taken to hospital after being found unresponsive on Friday.

Nathan Merritt, a former NRL player and South Sydney legend, is currently on life support after being taken to hospital on Friday.

According to reports from the Sydney Morning Herald and Daily Telegraph, Merritt was found unresponsive and rushed to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown.

The 40-year-old is said to be in a serious condition, a fact confirmed by the club.

Souths CEO Blake Solly expressed his concern, stating that Merritt is in the thoughts and prayers of everyone at the Rabbitohs.

It has been reported that Merritt sustained a concussion during a game in the Koori Knockout on the NSW Central Coast last weekend.
