Panthers assistant coach Ben Gardiner has been appointed as the new coach of the Toa Samoa rugby league team for the upcoming Pacific Championships.

Gardiner, who previously coached the Māori All Stars and served as a key member of the New Zealand Kiwis coaching staff, brings a wealth of experience to the position.

The announcement was made at a press conference in Apia, where Gardiner was officially introduced as the new Samoa coach.

Alongside Gardiner, St George Illawarra NRLW coach Jamie Soward will be coaching the Fetū Samoa women's team in their match against Fiji Bulikula.

Gardiner's proven track record of coaching success and his respected status within the rugby league community make him an ideal choice for leading Toa Samoa in the Pacific Championships.

As the team prepares for the upcoming tournament, his leadership and experience will be instrumental in their performance.
