The North Queensland Cowboys have made a major signing for the 2024 season, securing the services of Jakiya Whitfeld, the reigning NRLW Dally M Winger of the Year.
The 22-year-old had a sensational season with the Wests Tigers in 2023, making a name for herself as a breakout sensation.
Whitfeld was a force to be reckoned with on the field, registering an incredible 70 tackle breaks, which was the third highest in the competition.

Not only was Whitfeld a strong defender, but she also showcased her attacking prowess.
She averaged a remarkable 157 running metres per game and scored four tries, while also making 10 line-breaks.
Her exceptional defensive skills were recognized when her chase on Roosters superstar Isabelle Kelly to prevent a certain try was voted as the NRLW Tackle of the Year in 2023.
Whitfeld's transition to rugby league has been remarkable.
A former Australian Rugby 7s star, she made her NRLW debut with the Knights in 2022 before joining the Wests Tigers for the 2023 season.
