Reuben Garrick's shocking injury comes to light after mid-air tackle controversy

Reuben Garrick's shocking injury has come to light after a controversial mid-air tackle during a recent Rugby League game.

The incident sparked a heated debate as the referee and Bunker ruled that the play was legal, despite Nicoll-Klokstad taking out Garrick's legs while he was in mid-air attempting to catch a ball.

According to NRL rules, mid-air tackles are allowed if the ball has already bounced, which was the case in this situation.

However, many people argued that the tackle was dangerous and should have resulted in a penalty.

Garrick was put in a precarious position, with his legs flung high above his head before he landed on his back.

Despite the outcry, NRL head of football, Graham Annesley, defended the decision made by the officials.

He stated that the referee and Bunker had correctly interpreted the rules and there was no requirement for them to penalize the Warriors.

Annesley acknowledged the concerns about player safety and promised a review of the rules.

He emphasized that the NRL always prioritizes making the game safer and would make changes if necessary.

However, he also pointed out that injury alone is not enough to determine whether the rules have been breached or not.

While opinions may differ on the matter, it is clear that the incident has sparked a wider conversation about player safety in Rugby League.

The NRL will now assess the existing rules and determine if any adjustments need to be made to prevent similar injuries in the future.
