NSW Origin forward Tyson Frizell has been selected to join the Tonga squad for their historic three-Test series against England.

The Tongan team, which will become the first Pacific nation to play a full series against England, already boasts a formidable forward pack that includes big names such as Addin Fonua-Blake, Felise Kaufusi, Moeaki Fotuaika, Keaon Koloamatangi, Tevita Tatola, and Haumole Olakau'atu.

Although Jason Taumalolo will not be part of the squad, coach Kristian Woolf has still managed to assemble a strong team, with Frizell, Storm strike forward Eliesa Katoa, and Sydney Roosters second-rower Suia Wong being among the new faces.

Frizell, who has Welsh heritage from his father's side and Tongan heritage from his mother's side, previously represented Wales in five Tests in 2011 and 2013.

He has also played 16 Tests for Australia and made 16 appearances for NSW in the State of Origin.

Tonga's backline will also feature plenty of talent and speed, adding further excitement to the upcoming series.
