The Penrith Panthers have clawed their way into a fifth straight grand final, but not without some controversy that has left the NRL world scratching their heads.

NRL fans and pundits alike were left dumbfounded by yet another questionable decision from the infamous Bunker.

The Panthers, on a quest for an unprecedented fourth consecutive title, have set their sights on making history in the NRL era.

The last time a team achieved such a feat was the legendary St George side of 1956-1966, who reigned supreme for 11 consecutive seasons.

Despite a tight 26-6 victory, the Panthers found themselves in a precarious position with just 20 minutes remaining.

The game was hanging in the balance at 10-6 when a series of game-changing rulings threw everything into disarray.

In the 58th minute, it appeared as though the Panthers had widened their lead to 14-2 with a try from Sunia Turuva.

However, the Bunker intervened after a contentious clash between Luke Garner of the Panthers and Siosifa Talakai of the Sharks.

In true Rugby League fashion, the Panthers must now steel themselves for the ultimate challenge as they gear up for the grand final.

It's sure to be a showdown for the ages as they strive to etch their names in the annals of Rugby League history.
