Rhiannon Byers, a forward for the Sharks and a Wiradjuri woman, is committed to supporting Indigenous teenagers in achieving their dreams both on and off the football field.

Balancing her career as an elite rugby league player with her role as a full-time youth coordinator at the Kurranulla Aboriginal Corporation, Byers actively engages with Indigenous youth in southern Sydney, assisting them in connecting with their culture during their transition from school to adulthood.

This journey is also personal for Byers, who is exploring her own cultural identity and is beginning to see its positive influence on her performance in the sport.

Her recent participation in the Moree Knockout highlighted the inspiring way community events can bring people together, further fueling her passion for supporting young Indigenous talent.
