In a move that can only be described as the final siren sounding, former NRL journeyman Yileen Gordon has officially hung up his boots after a career that kicked off back in 2004 with the mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Gordon, known for his hard hits and nimble footwork, took to the field for one last dance on Friday night against the Penrith Panthers in the NSW Cup.

His illustrious career saw him don the jerseys of three different NRL teams, with a highlight being his instrumental role in guiding the Rabbitohs to NSW Cup glory last season.

Starting his professional journey with the Rabbitohs back in 2005, the now 37-year-old warrior had a solid run of 34 games before making a move to the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2009, where he added another 34 matches under his belt across two seasons.

His final NRL chapter came in 2011 when he suited up for the Penrith Panthers three times.

Although it seemed like the full-time siren had been blown on his career, Gordon found himself back in the game with the Wests Tigers three years later.

Unfortunately, a misstep off the field led to his departure from the club, marking the final chapter in his rugby league saga.

As Gordon hangs up his boots and heads off into the sunset, fans and teammates alike will remember him for his grit, determination, and undeniable passion for the game.

A true legend of the sport, his legacy will live on in the annals of rugby league history.
