South Sydney Rabbitohs have expressed their anger towards Ben Fordham for his "outrageous" report on superstar Latrell Mitchell.

The NRL club and Fordham are currently engaged in a heated war over the accusation made against Mitchell.

Despite Mitchell's manager warning Fordham not to air the story, the talk-back radio host went ahead and broadcasted comments from a listener.

The listener accused Mitchell of telling children to "go away" during a football gala day in western Sydney.

The event, known as the Mark Geyer Trophy, took place at Parker Street Reserve in Penrith, and Mitchell was present with his family.

The tournament involved 40 local teams comprised of children under the age of eight.

According to one caller on Fordham's show, Mitchell ignored his grandchildren, aged four and eight, when they requested a photo with him.
