Jamal Fogarty has addressed his upcoming switch from the Canberra Raiders to the Manly Sea Eagles for the 2026 season.
The 31-year-old has been chosen by Manly to lead the club following the departure of long-time captain Daly Cherry-Evans.
Despite the promising fit for both parties, Fogarty emphasized that his decision was more influenced by the Raiders than by Manly.
"I always wanted to stay, and the club knew I wanted to stay," Fogarty shared with the Daily Telegraph.
He noted that his agent reached out to the Raiders multiple times during the pre-season to activate a one-year deal, indicating his desire to continue with the club.
Fogarty's move marks a significant transition in his career as he prepares to don the maroon Sea Eagles jersey, highlighting the complexities involved in the transfer and his loyalty to the Raiders.
