The latest round of votes in Zero Tackle's NRL MVP race have been counted, revealing the top ten players of the 2024 NRL season.
As we entered the final round, James Tedesco was holding onto a narrow lead over Jahrome Hughes, with Scott Drinkwater still in with a shot at the top spot, but needing everything to fall into place just right.
Tom Trbojevic was cemented in fourth place, while the bottom half of the top ten was tightly contested, with Isaah Yeo, Jacob Kiraz, Sam Walker, Dylan Edwards, Daly Cherry-Evans, and Addin Fonua-Blake all within 20 votes of each other.
Ben Hunt, Patrick Carrigan, and Clint Gutherson were also hot on their heels.
Throughout the season, the expert panel, featuring Zero Tackle founder Matt Clements, writers Dan Nichols and Ethan Lee Chalk, and myself as editor, have been awarding points on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis after each game.
In this system, the best player on the field receives five votes, followed by four for the next standout player, and so on.
This allows for a player to make a significant impact with a strong performance in any given game.
