Fiji's 40-12 win over Cook Islands in Newcastle on Sunday brought Solomone Saukuru his second Test appearance and two tries.
The 21-year-old centre is now preparing for next Sunday's World Cup clash with Australia at Suncorp Stadium.
He is likely to face Kotoni Staggs, who has represented both Tonga and Australia. Saukuru said, "He's a great player but no-one here in Fiji is intimidated."
Before joining Fiji, Saukuru made his NRL debut for Wests Tigers late in 2026, scoring four tries in four games after almost a season in NSW Cup.
Fiji coach Mick Potter said he had followed Saukuru's progress for 18 months. "He's a player of the future for the Tigers and for Fiji."
Saukuru hopes to take lessons from the international campaign back to Wests Tigers for 2027.
He is learning from experienced teammates, including centre Waqa Blake, who scored 62 tries in 165 NRL games before moving to Super League.
"I'm kind of like a sponge wanting to soak it all in, what they're teaching me," Saukuru said.
He said Fiji's culture and shared singing helped unite players from different backgrounds.
