David Fifita, now a second-rower for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, continues to speak candidly about his previous team, the Gold Coast Titans, even after leaving during the off-season.

His final season at the Titans was tumultuous under coach Des Hasler.

Fifita faced numerous challenges, including being benched, dealing with an ankle injury, and even playing in the centres, despite being a proven Queensland State of Origin talent.

Throughout that season, he frequently made headlines, seeking a release from his contract, which ultimately came to fruition when he signed with the Rabbitohs and reconnected with former Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett.

Under Bennett's guidance, Fifita appears to be rejuvenating his career, having his best performance in over a year during the recent Good Friday match against the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Following that game, he shared on ABC Radio that he feels appreciated once again.

"It's good being down here with Wayne [Bennett] and the boys," Fifita remarked after the match.

"And to have the support of a team that loves me, and doesn't take me for granted."

This comment suggests there were deeper issues while he was with the Titans, as he faced considerable ups and downs last year.

While his ankle injury was cited as the main concern, speculation surrounded potential conflicts between Fifita and his coach.
