'Absolute madness': Dragons 'fuming' over 'real controversial' Flanagan no-try call

In a real nail-biter of a match on Friday night, the Dragons were left seething after a 'real controversial' call cost them a crucial try.

Kyle Flanagan, the Dragons' gutsy five-eighth, made a daring dash from dummy-half, managing to slip under a Jahream Bula tackle and reach for the tryline.

It looked like a definite try for the Dragons, but referee Chris Butler sent it off to the Bunker as a no-go, with Adam Gee backing up the call on the field.

On the Fox League coverage, the legendary Cooper Cronk, a two-time Dally M Medallist, thought Flanagan's move was all above board.

But the Bunker official saw it differently, stating, "Kyle Flanagan is lying flat on his back with a defender all over him.

There's no clear forward momentum at that point.

Then he shoves the ball over the goal line.

the decision stands."

Cronk was left shaking his head in disbelief, and even former Dragons star James Graham thought the try should've been given.

The Dragons were left absolutely livid with the ruling, feeling like they'd been robbed of a crucial opportunity.
