Farnworth Dismisses Roosters Rumors, Focused on Dolphins

Dolphins standout Herbie Farnworth has clarified that he has not engaged in discussions with the Sydney Roosters, despite ongoing rumors linking him to the club starting in 2028.

The talented centre's contract expires at the end of 2027, and he isn't allowed to negotiate with any NRL teams until at least November 1. Nonetheless, media speculation indicates that the Roosters may pursue him with a substantial offer.

Farnworth has emerged as one of the premier centres in recent seasons, playing an integral role for the Dolphins, who are currently enjoying a streak of victories and aiming for their inaugural finals appearance this season.

When asked about his future by AAP, Farnworth emphasized his commitment to the Dolphins, asserting that he hasn't considered leaving, hasn't initiated conversations with anyone, and feels satisfied in Redcliffe.

"I am just focused on winning a competition here," Farnworth shared with the media.

"I am signed here for this year and next year. I have not had any thoughts on leaving. I'm happy."

"(The Roosters link) is just media talk. We haven't spoken to anyone and I certainly haven't heard anything."

"We have got a really good run this year and I don't want anything like that to get in the way. I'm sure when (contract talks) do roll around I will be speaking to the Dolphins first."
