Faitala-Mariner Offered to Multiple Teams After Exit

After being one of the 12 players released by the St George Illawarra Dragons, forward Raymond Faitala-Mariner is reportedly being pursued by several teams as he seeks a new contract for the 2026 season.

The 32-year-old, who boasts over 130 first-grade appearances, spent most of the current season with the club's reserve-grade team, managing to play in just four NRL games.

As he approaches the twilight of his career, Faitala-Mariner possesses a significant amount of skill and experience that will benefit any club he joins as he aims to extend his playing days.

Currently without a contract for the next season, All Out Rugby League has reported that his management has offered Faitala-Mariner to multiple teams competing in the Super League.

This development comes as the international competition has increased its quota of international players from seven to ten.

It appears that the Sam Burgess-coached Warrington Wolves are leading the race to acquire his services following the retirement of former NRL back-rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon.

As a dual international, Faitala-Mariner has represented Samoa in three matches and New Zealand in one. He made his debut in 2015 and has played for the New Zealand Warriors, Canterbury Bulldogs, and most recently, the St George Illawarra Dragons.
