A former back-rower for the Canberra Raiders and Newcastle Knights is set to join a feeder club of the Perth Bears in anticipation of the 2026 season, aiming to secure a position on the roster of the NRL's expansion team in the future.
Clay Webb, who most recently played in the UK with the Featherstone Rovers and York City Knights (on loan), is the latest addition to the Brisbane Tigers competing in the QLD Cup reserve-grade competition.
At just 23 years old, Webb has been recognized as a solid edge player, earning a spot in the 2023 NSW Cup Team of the Year. Despite his accomplishments, he has yet to fully tap into his potential as a rugby league athlete.

In addition to his capabilities on the edge, Webb can also play as a lock or front-rower. He previously captained the Canberra Raiders to victory in the Under-19s SG Ball Cup and has made 50 appearances for their NSW Cup side.
Webb is known for his impressive right foot step, which enhances his ability to break through defensive lines. He also spent one season with the Newcastle Knights, where he featured in 14 games for their reserve-grade team before moving abroad.
Alongside Webb, the Brisbane Tigers have confirmed the signings of Benjamin Taylor from the Manly Sea Eagles, Harry Durbin from the New Zealand Warriors, and Zack Lamont from the Penrith Panthers, among others.
