England Wheelchair squad named for Ashes tour
Luis Domingos, an international wheelchair basketball player from Portugal, is among the three new additions to the England squad for the upcoming Ashes tour in Australia.
England's wheelchair coach, Tom Coyd MBE, has acknowledged the impressive progress of Domingos, who is currently with Castleford Tigers. He has also included Mason Billington from London Roosters and Finlay O'Neill from Halifax Panthers in the 10-member squad for the Ashes series against the Wheelaroos.
None of these players were involved in Wheelchair Rugby League when England secured the 2022 World Cup, but they now have the opportunity to showcase their talents as they prepare to compete for spots in the England team aiming to defend its title in Australia in 2026.
The squad is set to depart on October 19 and will participate in matches against New South Wales and Queensland, followed by two Test matches against the Wheelaroos on the Gold Coast on October 30 and November 2. These matches are vital for both teams as they gear up for the RLWC2026.
