
Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea will host the Rugby League World Cup, which begins on Thursday 15 October with Australia meeting New Zealand at Allianz Stadium.
The final is scheduled for Suncorp Stadium on Sunday 15 November.
England and New Zealand announced their squads on Tuesday, including Bears player Smithies in England's final 23 and Sorensen in New Zealand's squad.
England will play Tonga at Perth's HBF Park on Saturday 17 October, then face France at the venue on Saturday 24 October.
Sorensen is set for his second World Cup campaign after making his international debut for the Kiwis at the 2022 tournament.
