Eight NRL Future Stars Named in U16s Australia Rugby Union Squad
Australia's Under-16s rugby union squad has announced the inclusion of eight promising future NRL players following an impressive season in the Under-16s Super Rugby. This squad is distinguished in the 15-man code, showcasing juniors actively engaged in various NRL pathways, including participation in the Harold Matthews Cup earlier this year.
The selected players are Asher Chapman (Dragons), Charlie Xuereb (Panthers), Cooper Williams (Tigers), Cordell Arama (Panthers), Kalasi Talakai (Rabbitohs), Payton Tarau (Rabbitohs), Thomas Longland (Sea Eagles), and Will Gencur (Roosters).

While these players may not be widely recognized yet, Xuereb is noted as a standout prospect from the renowned Patrician Brothers' Blacktown. He has played a crucial role in securing consecutive Peter Mulholland Cup titles for his school.
In addition, both Chapman and Tarau are seen as potential long-term members of the spine for their respective teams, the Dragons and South Sydney Rabbitohs.
