The Parramatta Eels have provided an official update regarding winger Zac Lomax, who has been excluded from participating in the 2025 Ashes Series against England.

Lomax has been sidelined due to an abdominal strain, which he sustained towards the end of the regular season. The club has confirmed that he is anticipated to return and commence pre-season training on schedule.

In his absence, teammate Josh Addo-Carr will take his place in the Kangaroos squad. Additionally, Newcastle Knights' centre Bradman Best has been called up to replace Xavier Coates, who has also withdrawn following medical assessments.

"Zac Lomax finished the season with an abdominal strain," a statement from the club read.

"Recent scans have shown that it has not fully healed and limits Zac's power and strength. This injury needs to be rested in order to fully recover.

"Whilst being ruled out of the Kangaroo Tour, it is expected that Zac will be ready for pre-season training."
