Eels Rewrite the Record Books in Dominant Win Over Raiders
The Parramatta Eels NRLW team achieved a groundbreaking victory on Saturday afternoon at GIO Stadium, defeating the Canberra Raiders 46-12 in Round 3.
This impressive 34-point win not only marked the Eels' largest victory in NRLW history but also shattered their previous record margins of 14 points from wins against the Roosters (2022) and Cowboys (2024).
Halfback Rachael Pearson was the standout performer, contributing significantly to the team's historic win.
She kicked 7 goals, surpassing the previous Eels NRLW record of 4 goals in a game-previously shared with Tayla Preston.
Furthermore, Pearson set a new record for the most points scored in a single game by an Eels NRLW player, tallying 18 points that included a try in the 64th minute.
This achievement eclipsed Tayla Preston's prior record of 12 points against the Roosters in 2022, making Pearson the first player in Parramatta NRLW history to reach 100 career points.
Cassey Tohi-Hiku also celebrated a milestone during this match, playing her 25th NRLW game, all with the Eels.
Her consistent and dynamic performance has been crucial for the team, making the victory especially meaningful for her.
Further marking the occasion, both Martha Mataele and Tess McWilliams scored their first NRLW tries, heralding the start of promising careers in the blue and gold.
The scoring was rounded out by Rory Owen (2 tries), Rueben Cherrington, Chloe Jackson, and captain Mahalia Murphy.
Overall, the match exemplified the Eels' potential and prowess in the league, as they made history while celebrating individual achievements.
