The Parramatta Eels made a significant decision in 2024 by extending the contract of one of the NRL's prominent figures, ensuring their dynamic star remains in Western Sydney.
Kangaroos star Josh Addo-Carr has officially removed himself from the NRL's open market by signing a one-year extension, which will keep him at Parramatta until the end of 2027, as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.
Last year, after the Canterbury Bulldogs terminated his contract, Addo-Carr found himself at a crucial turning point in his career.
At 30 years old, he needed a fresh start, and reuniting with coach Jason Ryles, under whom he previously excelled at the Melbourne Storm, became a pivotal moment for him.
With a renewed sense of confidence, a solid relationship with Ryles, and feeling valued within the team, Addo-Carr opted for stability as his path forward.
This familiar partnership quickly revitalized his game, as Addo-Carr delivered some of his strongest performances in the blue and gold jersey.
His remarkable comeback featured 19 tries for the Eels, which earned him a return to the Kangaroos and a place on Australia's first Ashes tour of England in 22 years.
