Eels' performance head swaps teams, coach changes prevail

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

The Parramatta Eels are once again reshuffling their coaching staff, with head coach Jason Ryles leading the charge in making some bold moves.

Reports from zerotackle.com suggest that Trent Barrett, who has been serving as an assistant coach under Brad Arthur, will not be retained beyond this season under Ryles' new regime.

In a not-so-surprising development, Head of Performance Trent Elkin is also set to bid farewell to the Eels at the end of the season.

According to News Corp, Elkin is poised to jump ship and join the South Sydney Rabbitohs, where he will be working with coaching legend Wayne Bennett, as well as assistants Ben Hornby and David Furner.

Elkin, who has been with the Eels for the past five seasons, brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously worked with the Cronulla Sharks.

This latest move is just another chapter in the ever-evolving world of Rugby League coaching staff changes.
