Eels on the hot seat with Barrett rumor

Eels grilled after ‘naive’ Trent Barrett firms to become club’s next coach

The Parramatta Eels are facing some tough questions after it was revealed that the twice-sacked coach, Trent Barrett, is in the running to take over the reins.

Barrett, who has been shown the door at both the Sea Eagles and Bulldogs, is currently serving as the Eels' interim coach after stepping up from his assistant role following Brad Arthur's dismissal last month.

With a coaching record that leaves much to be desired, Barrett's winning percentage stands at a mere 32% over 110 NRL games.

His stint at Canterbury saw an even more dismal success rate of just 14.7%.

Despite these lackluster figures, Barrett has emerged as a top contender for the head coaching position at Parramatta.

Eels player Reagan Campbell-Gillard has emphasized the urgency of making a decision on the new coach, stating that the team needs to move quickly.

However, there are still four candidates in the mix, keeping the suspense high.

In the unpredictable world of Rugby League, anything can happen, and the Eels will need to choose wisely to steer the ship in the right direction.

The pressure is on for Parramatta as they navigate this crucial decision that could shape the future of the club.
