The Parramatta Eels are focused on retaining their homegrown talent by extending the contracts of two of their promising juniors, Steven Nunn and Liam Martin.
Both players are rising stars within the Eels and have demonstrated significant potential in their sport, earning spots in the Australian Schoolboys teams this season.
According to Code Sports, Nunn, a prop, has added an extra year to his contract, securing his position until 2029, while Martin, a fullback, has signed a two-year deal through to 2028.
Nunn is set to participate in the Eels' 2027 pre-season before transitioning to a development deal in 2028, ultimately moving up to the main squad in 2029.
After relocating from New Zealand in 2025, Nunn has made a notable impact with the Eels' SG Ball team this season.
The club has taken notice of Nunn's commitment, having advanced him to the Jersey Flegg team, where he has made two starts in eight games.
Currently attending Patrician Brothers College in Blacktown, he shone in the combined Catholic Colleges team at this year's Australian Secondary Schoolboys National Championships.
His impressive performances led to his inclusion in the Schoolboys squad, making him one of the first New Zealanders selected since Jason Taumalolo.
Liam Martin, who is also on Australia's Schoolboys team, recently won National Championships with Combined High Schools, defeating Nunn's CCC side.
As he continues to progress through SG Ball, Martin will train with the NRL squad in 2028.
Both junior players will head to Papua New Guinea for the junior Kangaroos' match against the Junior Kumuls in October.
