Halfback Dean Hawkins, recently released by the Parramatta Eels, has officially signed with a new club for the upcoming season.

His next destination is the London Broncos, a team competing in the second tier of the English Super League. This transition comes after a season where the 26-year-old stood out as the 2023 NSW Cup Player of the Year, playing in 12 matches for the Eels. However, the arrival of Jonah Pezet has reshuffled his position in the team's halves lineup.

Prior to his time with the Eels, Hawkins played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, where he made 14 appearances. At the Broncos, he will reunite with former teammate Siliva Havili and ex-NSW Blues star Reagan Campbell-Gillard.

In a social media announcement, the Broncos expressed their excitement about Hawkins joining the team: "We're thrilled to welcome Dean 'Footy Dean' Hawkins - a sharp, composed half with elite game management and a lethal boot." The post also noted his history, stating, "A former South Sydney junior and 2022 NSW Cup Player of the Year, Dean joins from the Parramatta Eels bringing NRL experience and leadership to the Broncos halves."
