Eels eyeing dual replacements for departing players

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

The Parramatta Eels are on the lookout for new talent to fill the shoes of departing players, with new coach Jason Ryles eyeing off Gold Coast Titans' Tom Weaver and South Sydney Rabbitohs' Dean Hawkins as potential recruits for the 2025 season.

Both Weaver and Hawkins find themselves on the sidelines at their current clubs, possibly seeking a fresh start with the Eels.

However, with Mitchell Moses and Dylan Brown locked into contracts for 2025, it's unlikely that either new recruit would immediately crack the starting lineup.

Speculation swirls around the futures of Brown and Moses, with rumors of discontent and uncertainty over their long-term commitments to the team.

Despite this, the Eels have already bid farewell to Ethan Sanders and may soon see Daejarn Asi head to England when his contract expires.

Reports suggest that both Weaver and Hawkins, currently without contracts for the 2024 season's end, are prime targets for Parramatta's revamp.

With the off-season approaching, the Eels are determined to strengthen their squad and maintain their competitive edge on the field.
