The Parramatta Eels have confirmed that Richard Penisini will be moving up to the club's Top 30, effective immediately.

Talented prospect Ryley Smith has also secured a spot on the club's development list for the next two seasons.

Penisini, who hails from a lineage of star players, including his brother Will, has overcome injury setbacks to earn his place in the blue and gold squad until the end of 2026.

An agile outside back known for his prowess on the wing, Penisini has excelled at every level from SG Ball to New South Wales Cup in the rapid ascent of his career in the 2023 season.

With a potential NRL debut in sight for 2024, injuries have been a persistent hurdle for Penisini and his fellow Eels teammates.

"Richard's promotion to the Top 30 is a testament to his dedication and perseverance.

As a homegrown talent, his progression through the elite pathways program showcases his immense potential, and we are thrilled to support him as he embarks on this next phase of his journey," remarked Parramatta's football management chief, Mark O'Neill.
