EXCLUSIVE: Dylan Walker hints at contract talks and future plans
Dylan Walker, a seasoned campaigner in the New Zealand Warriors squad now that legends Shaun Johnson and Tohu Harris have hung up their boots, has shed some light on his future as he heads into the final season of his current deal.
A stalwart of the NRL, Walker has seen it all in his impressive 12 (soon to be 13) seasons in the competition and continues to be a linchpin in the first-grade lineup.
Having tasted premiership glory with the South Sydney Rabbitohs back in 2014, Walker may not have donned the green and gold of Australia (2014) or the sky blue of the NSW Blues (2016) during his time with the Warriors, but his adaptability and leadership have been crucial in the team's success, taking them to within a whisker of the 2023 NRL Grand Final.
With six Warriors players facing off-contract status at the end of the 2025 NRL season, Walker opened up to Zero Tackle about his contract negotiations, expressing his desire to stay put and secure an extension.
But, he didn't rule out the possibility of heading back Down Under in the future, where he racked up 62 appearances for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and 124 games for the Manly Sea Eagles before making the move across the Tasman to New Zealand in 2023.
