St George Illawarra Dragons are on the brink of securing a significant financial injection from billionaire Andrew 'Twiggy' Forrest, with his energy company Squadron Energy set to become a major sponsor of the club.

According to reports, Forrest is close to finalizing a deal worth $1.2 million per year for Squadron Energy to feature as the Dragons' front-of-shirt sponsor from 2025.

Squadron Energy is expected to start as the club's back-of-jersey sponsor for the 2024 season before moving to the front the following year, taking over from current principal partner St George Bank.

With an estimated net worth of $33.29 billion, Forrest is Australia's second-richest person, making this potential deal a significant development for the Dragons.

The injection of funds from Forrest's company would provide a major boost for the club's financial position, potentially enabling them to invest in player recruitment and development, as well as other areas of the organization.
