In Round 9 of the Jersey Flegg Cup, Wests Tigers suffered a significant loss against the Dragons, ending in a 56-18 defeat at Lidcombe Oval.

The match began with St.

George Illawarra's Lyric Craft-Te Moananui scoring the opening try.

Wests responded with teenage halfback Jared Haywood assisting Max Taotua for their first try.

After Craft-Te Moananui's second try, Wests Tigers executed a well-coordinated scrum play, allowing Solomone Saukuru to score, briefly putting them ahead 12-10.

However, the Dragons regained control before halftime, with tries from Jared Johnson, Cyrus Stanley-Traill, and Blake Metcalfe, ending the first half with a 28-12 lead.

Saukuru showcased his power by scoring again early in the second half, with Logan Brookes contributing on his Jersey Flegg Cup debut.

Despite this, the Dragons maintained dominance, with Campbell Rubie scoring in the 62nd minute, quickly followed by a sharp try from halfback Kade Reed, cementing the Dragons' victory.
