The 2025 NRLW season is set to kick off with the Dragons facing the Raiders in a highly anticipated double-header at GIO Stadium.
This matchup precedes the club's NRL clash on Saturday afternoon.
Nathan Cross, the Dragons' coach, has extensive experience, including assistant roles in the Hostplus Queensland Cup and pathways coaching for the Titans, before serving as Head Coach for Pathways & Performance at the Queensland Rugby League.
Two notable players making their NRLW debuts this round are Pia Tapsell and Trinity Tauaneai.
Tapsell, a proud Ngāti Whakauae and Te Arawa Māori woman from Devonport, Auckland, has a rich rugby background, having represented the Black Ferns internationally and being a key player in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition.
Although she played for the Sharks in the 2024 NRLW season, Tapsell is eager to make her debut on Saturday.
