In a disappointing turn of events, the Dragons Knock On Effect Cup and Jersey Flegg squads were both defeated by the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 24 of the NSWRL competitions on Saturday.

The Rabbitohs dominated the game, securing a convincing 50-12 victory over the Dragons' Knock On Effect Cup team at Redfern Oval.

Izaac Thompson played a pivotal role in the Rabbitohs' triumph, scoring a remarkable hat-trick of tries.

Thompson wasted no time, scoring his first try just five minutes into the match.

However, the Dragons quickly responded through winger Ben Rumble, who made his Knock On Effect Cup debut following an impressive Jersey Flegg campaign.

Despite Rumble's efforts, Thompson struck again to extend the Rabbitohs' lead.

Josiah Karapani, Dion Teaupa, and Dean Hawkins also contributed to the Rabbitohs' dominance, crossing the try line to give their team a commanding 24-6 advantage at halftime.

Thompson continued to wreak havoc in the second half, securing his third try early on.

The Dragons managed to salvage some pride with Hamish Stewart scoring his first try in the Knock On Effect Cup.

However, the Rabbitohs sealed their comprehensive win with two tries from Tom Carr, as well as scores from Ethan O'Neill and Blake Taaffe.
