Reports are rife down under that the St George Illawarra Dragons are deep in talks with rising star outside back Max Feagai.

The young Kiwi-born winger and centre has notched up a solid ten first-grade appearances this season, bringing his overall career games in the NRL to 21.

Hailing from the Dragons' development system, Feagai has impressed as a regular member of the team since Round 13, stepping up to fill in for the likes of Jack Bird and Moses Suli who have been nursing injuries.

Initially, there were whispers that Max would follow in the footsteps of his brother Mathew, who recently signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2026.

Despite these initial rumblings, it seems negotiations are still ongoing for Max.

The potential for a new deal to be sealed in the near future is on the cards according to reports from News Corp.
