Shane Flanagan, the head coach of the Dragons, has outlined his ambitions for the team as they continue building toward future seasons following the acquisition of a key player from the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

"We've only got 25 or 26 players signed out of the top 30, so we're still looking to strengthen that up," Flanagan noted, indicating that there are still gaps to fill in the roster.

He emphasized the current challenge of finding elite players on the open market, stating, "But it is hard at the moment, there's no elite-type players on the open market, so we'll have to look at what players are available for [2027 and 2028]."

Flanagan further identified specific positions that need to be addressed in the recruitment process. "We'll hopefully sign a middle forward, a back and a half," he mentioned, highlighting the key areas the team is targeting for improvement.

Despite the recent difficulties in recruitment at the Dragons, Flanagan assured fans that the club won't make hasty decisions just to fill roster spots. "Signing players is not the problem," he affirmed, emphasizing the importance of strategic recruitment moving forward.
