Dragons forward Dan Russell has scored a try by signing with a new club, exiting the NRL competition in style.
Despite having a mutual option with the Dragons for next season, Russell bid farewell to the club less than a month ago to join the Warrington Wolves in the Super League until the end of the 2026 season.
Having not played a single NRL match this season, Russell will now be tackling under the coaching of Sam Burgess at Warrington and is set to step up in the starting back-row, potentially replacing Matty Nicholson.
The Kumals representative debuted in Round 19 against the Canberra Raiders in 2023, and has since played seven more games for the Dragons.
Starting in the second row and playing the full 80 minutes in most games, Russell made an impressive 307 tackles with a tackle efficiency of 91.9%, ran a total of 535 metres (averaging 66 per game), and even broke through the defensive line once.
Joining the Wolves, Russell is ready to tackle the challenges ahead and make a mark in the Super League with his strong performances on the field.
