Selwyn Cobbo, the standout outside back for the Dolphins, has confirmed his future with the club by signing another one-year deal.

After departing from the Brisbane Broncos, the Origin-calibre player joined the Dolphins for the 2026 season, despite attracting considerable interest from various Sydney teams, including the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Reports indicate that Cobbo took a pay cut to make the switch to the Dolphins.

In recognition of his commitment, the Dolphins have rewarded Cobbo with a one-year extension, ensuring he will remain with the club through 2027.

Dolphins CEO Terry Reader noted that the club's recruitment strategy this year has been successful, emphasizing their desire for Cobbo to have a long tenure in Dolphins colors.

"Selwyn has already made his presence felt at the Dolphins - both on the field and off it," Reader stated while announcing the deal.

"What has been most impressive is how well he has melded into the playing group and the club in general.

"He has been a great fit for the Dolphins, and I know the environment around the club is something Selwyn has enjoyed."

"We believe this contract extension is just the start of what will be a long career for Selwyn in the Dolphins' jersey."
